Helping you find the right card

Suggestions for an adult grand daughter

If you are having difficulty choosing a card, then STU ART CONCEPTS can give you guidance and make suggestions. It is as simple contacting me with a few details about your recipient.

For example, Margaret, a frequent customer, needs such help. She is an 83 year old lady living in Sydney who loves sending birthday cards to her family and friends. She finds it difficult searching online to find the right card. Therefore I help her by making suggestions from my range based on the details she gives about the recipient.

Adult granddaughter birthday card

Margaret’s granddaughter will be celebrating her 23rd birthday next month. For her, she wanted a birthday card with a name on the front but preferably not an age as it wouldn’t be a major birthday. As a result, I suggested the 4 cards in the image below. Margaret decided on the cat card which I personalised with her granddaughter’s name and an inside message. She chose the lilac coloured envelope which I agree is a great colour for this card.

Son-in-law birthday card

Likewise, Margaret wanted a name birthday card without the age for her soon to be 51 son-in-law. Of the 4 suggestions, she chose the long shadow design. This I personalised with his name and an inside message. Almost any colour envelope looks good with this card.

93 year old friend’s birthday card

At the last minute, she remembered that she also needed a birthday card for her 93 year old friend. The card she chose was the “wine glass design” with a musk envelope.

For example details like these:

  • Name

  • Relationship to you
  • Things they may like – sport, hobbies, interests

Patriotic Red White and Blue Age Birthday Cards

60th birthday card edit name red white blue bth088 snippet

Bold red white and blue graphical numbers is the feature of this range of happy birthday cards. Firstly there is combination of lines circles and solid colours combine to create the numbers. Then “Happy Birthday” and the recipient’s name are subtly written in the circle.

Not only are the colours vibrant in red, white and blue, but they can represent the person’s country. Therefore this makes the collection of happy birthday cards particularly suitable for someone who is very patriotic. For example, they could be living in Australia, USA, UK, France, Russia, Thailand, and many more as can be seen from the country flags below.

There are many countries with red white and blue in their flags. For a complete list you can visit Wikipedia.

Furthermore, do they support a team whose colours are red, white and blue?

Re-design

This range of birthday cards was originally designed in 2015 and was one of the top sellers. However, some customers requested that a name be added to the front of the cards they ordered, which was not easy to do. Consequently, in 2019, the designs were refreshed to include a personalised name on the front.

Customising

Make every birthday card unique. STU ART CONCEPTS’s shop makes it really easy!

Firstly, what name do you want? The birthday card can be for man woman male female mum, dad, any relation such as aunt and uncle, grandma, grandpa, or friend. Personalise with their name or the relationship to you. For example, I can edit to “AUNTIE BETTY” “NONNA” “SISTER.”

Next, do you want a standard sized card (A6) or a larger one. For example, the large A4 size is perfect for a very special birthday like a 70th so the whole family can write messages inside to your dad or mum. Likewise, the A5 size is great when you want to write a long message such as a husband to his wife.

Then decide what you want inside. There are 3 choices: blank, standard greeting or personalised message.

Lastly, for standard size cards, you have a choice of envelope colours.

Synthwave range of birthday cards

10th birthday card for boy synthwave bth341 display 1

In the early 2000’s the music and art style, synthwave, was inspired by many 1980s films, video games, and cartoons. The video game “Grand Theft Auto” inspired French house producers and other young electronic music musicians. The art features neon colours, particularly magenta neon. Key elements in designs are night views of cities and landscapes, cars and chrome.

The synthwave range of birthday cards was designed by STU ART CONCEPTS based on these ideas. The birthday cards are probably most suitable for boys but many girls will also like them. Give it to your son, brother, grandson, nephew or friend.

Milestone 21st birthday card

We celebrate many milestones during our life. From birth to death we strive for and pass many goals, some of which are age based. Reflecting back on these can spark memories from your past. For example, going to school at 5, becoming a teenager at 13 and getting your driver’s licence at 18 (or the legal age in your country). Most importantly, when you turn 21, you become a member of the adult society. These were the thoughts I had when designing this personalised milestone 21st birthday card.

Personalised Milestone 21st birthday card

Sharon, in Los Angeles, wanted a very special 21st birthday card for here son, Aaron, as she was not going to be able to celebrate the occasion in person. She chose the blue version of this personalised milestone 21st birthday card and asked for edits to the name and date as shown in the picture above. In addition she chose the personalised message option inside. The picture below shows the beautiful words she typed. She has written about the many memories she cherishes with her son and you can feel the love she has for him. Also she selected the silver shadow metallique finish envelope to make the card even more special.

To personalise any card you just choose the size, envelope colour and inside options. Then write the text details in the personalisation box and I’ll edit the artwork for you.

Shipping time

Shipping time to the USA was 10 to 15 business days so the card might not arrive in time for his birthday. Consequently, she asked me to post the card direct to him. Also, I emailed her a PDF of the artwork so she could give him a temporary card if it didn’t arrived in time. I offer this backup to all overseas customers. Fortunately the card arrived the day before Aaron’s birthday.

Different colours?

Perhaps your recipient likes a particular colour. This design, and many other card designs, can have the colours adjusted. The cost varies from FREE to a small extra charge depending on how much work is involved. You can send me a message with your requirements and I’ll let you know the cost and send you a screenshot for your consideration. Sometimes it makes it easy if you attach a picture of the colour/colours.

CoVID19 – Keep celebrating with a personalised greeting card

Saving people’s lives during the CoVID19 crisis means that we all need to socially isolate. No more birthday parties, wedding receptions or other celebratory gatherings for the duration of worst the crisis. As we come out of the crisis smaller gatherings might be possible. Consequently you may not be able to attend the celebration. One solution is to send a personalised greeting card.

Maintain your connections with a personalised greeting card

It is important for us to maintain our social connections with family and friends. One way to do that is to send them a physical personalised greeting card. Not just any card. One that is special for them. In fact, STU ART CONCEPTS can help you as every card is unique by editing the name on the front, adding a personalised message inside and choosing your envelope colour. They are available in A6, large A5 or very large A4 sizes.

Show appreciation with a personalised thank you card

In these difficult times, someone may have done something for you and you’d like to show your appreciation. Thank you cards are a great way to express your feelings. You can get a blank card and write your message yourself or I can add your personalised message.

Adding your personalisation is simple.

First, select the inside option as “Add personalised message” Then, in the box below that, write your personalised message & any special instructions. When your order comes through, I’ll prepare your artwork. If the message is simple, I’ll print and post the card. As well, I’ll send you a screenshot of the artwork for your information. For detailed messages, I’ll email you a screenshot of the artwork for your approval before printing the card.

The range of thank you cards is here.

Possible shipping delays

Postal services are considered an essential service and most countries are endeavouring to ensure they operate during this period. Australia Post is confident they can maintain service throughout Australia with little disruption – thus 2 to 8 working days delivery still applies. Likewise, many overseas countries postal services are still operating, though there may be a delay in some. I’d recommend allowing at least 25 working days. At this time the United States and the United Kingdom are operating normally so allow at least 10 to 12 working days. You can check what the current situation for your country is here.

Furthermore, as an insurance policy, during these uncertain times, I am sending all international customers a PDF file of the artwork so you can print out a temporary card should there be any shipping delays.

Find the right card

Visit the shop to find the right card for your occasion. There are three ways to find what you are looking for. Firstly, you can type in the search box in the top left your key words. Secondly, browse by category by clicking on the category icon pictures. Lastly, you can use the drop down tab to access the categories and sub-categories.

When you’ve found the right card, you can easily personalise it by writing the words in the personalisation boxes for me to edit and selecting the options for size and envelope colour.

New printer = better cards

new printer 2019 Epson Surecolor P800
new printer 2019 Epson Surecolor P800

Printing of my greeting cards has developed a lot since I first began making them in 2014.

My first printer was a Canon multifunction colour laser printer. This had severe limitations on the card thickness as it rolled the card when printing. It also often jammed which meant a lot of waste and frustration. To get the best results I had to print on photo paper and glue that to a 250gsm base card.

Next I upgraded to an Epson Artisan 1430 inkjet printer. I chose this printer for the A3 size capability along with archival quality printing. I still had to print the card image on photographic paper and glue it to the base card which could be 300gsm thickness.

Now I have upgraded again to an Epson Surecolor P800 inkjet printer. I chose this printer so I can print on very thick card and up to A2 size. NO MORE GLUING! I can now print on both sides of thick card with high quality images. After testing many papers, I’ve chosen Canson Rag Photographique as the media for my cards. This ultra smooth, pure white card is 310gsm 100% rag. This media exceeds museum standards reproducing exceptional vibrant colours which feature in many of my greeting card designs.

I’m extremely happy with the look and feel of the cards from this new printer. I hope you are too. Visit the shop to select and personalise your card. There are options to edit the name on the front, add a message inside, and choose your envelope colour. You can also select the card size up to A4! That makes every card I make unique.
